This coming Saturday & Sunday (May18th & 19th)  RFP Presents, The Jimi Hendrix Radio Special – The Jimi You Never Knew. A deep look into the Hendrix archives featuring “The Songs Jimi Left behind” This is a 2 hour program.

More than 40 years after ‘s death, the guitarist and singer’s legacy continues to grow. His label recently released People, Hell and Angels, an album of 12 previously unreleased recordings that Hendrix was working on for a planned follow-up to 1968’s Electric Ladyland (Which we have been playing on RFP)

In this special edition of RFP Presents, David Dye hosts The Jimi You Never Knew, a two-hour episode showcasing music that has surfaced over the past few years. Featuring interviews with Hendrix’s sister Janie, his engineer Eddie Kramer, his bass player Billy Cox, and musicians like Billy Gibbons, Angela Davis, and this show delves deeply into the legend of one of rock’s most influential stars.

Jake Bugg – Jake Bugg
(Bugg is a 19 year old singer-sonwriter who was born in Nottingham, to musical parents. His father, whose name was Bugg, was a nurse and his mother worked in sales, both having previously made recordings. He started playing guitar at the age of 12 after being introduced to the instrument by his uncle Mark. (Joe Bonamassa (born May 8, 1977) is an American blues rock guitarist and singer. He began his career playing guitar in the band Bloodline, which also featured the offspring of Miles Davis, Robby Krieger of The Doors, and Berry Oakley of The Allman Brothers Band. Bonamassa was born and raised in New Hartford, New York. His parents owned and ran a guitar shop. He is a fourth-generation musician; with a great-grandfather and grandfather who both played trumpet, and a father who plays guitar, Bonamassa credits his parents with fostering an appreciation of music in his life as early as he can remember. When he was a young child, he would listen to his parents’ large record collection. The host is David Gans (host of the Grateful Dead Hour).
Music includes Pearl classics from the original album, rare studio outtakes and live cuts from the era.
