Wingman: Your ‘Wingman’ for the digital age.

If you ever wanted to play match maker for your friend when it comes to online dating, there’s now an “app” for that.With the applause action  Wingman, you could just that a new app launching in April in both the U. K. And U.S. on apple iOS (Soon to be available for Android device. But the app is not so much a dating application as it is a new application to help friends mingle with other peers in their areas.

 

 

“What really sets it apart is that you are that person in the middle.. nudging your friend to meet others” says Wingman’s Tina Wilson. The application’s process all starts by logging into the app with Facebook and then creating a profile for the single friend in question. In addition, the application enables you to have as many pals as you like, while each dater profile can also have multiple wingpeople.

Eventually, your friend is then sent a link to review all the great things you’ve described about them.Once they’ve approved the  profile you set up for your friend, you can then swipe through potential matches for them.

If you swipe on a match for your single friend and that person is interested, your friend is automatically connected to them. They’re then free to take it from there! The privacy finally comes when the connection is made by both and the matchmaking is then up to the matches leaving any chats between the two that are matched!

We spoke with The Glider Pilots who together are bringing a vibrant series of lyrically melodic music comprised of alternative and blues inspired sounds. We spoke with the Queensland, Australian, based-band about their inspirations, creative process and their latest full album release “Talk Free” available where all music is streamed and available for digital and hard copy through band camp and iTunes. According Music analytics service BuzzAngle Music from its first-ever yearly report on US music consumption found that Vinyl record sales rose 25.9% in 2016. More than ever people are reconnecting with the analog form of music as companies continue to distribute record players including re-issues of classic and many new artist to now release their music over vinyl. As our World continuously becomes more advances and mobile, quite literally in fact does the imagery seen through that of popular media publications, video, photos, websites, many times to a point of sensory overload.

With a click of button, all of our news from friends to trending news surrounding topics of one’s interest is available at the click of touch, sometime more by chance than selection.  Throughout modern history, the media has molded and displayed what should be accepted or deemed as acceptable when it comes to the products we purchase and to the very detail of how we should appear. When you pair the focus brought upon by fashion magazines, images of public figures that’s utilized to sell products, draws pressure on one’s self image and confidence.

More than ever, children starting from a young age have access to so much imagery as social serves as the quickest and most engaging way for impressional and becoming young adults to communicate among their appears. With so much at youngsters’ hands these days, it’s easy to become quite fixated and comparing yourself to the ideal portrayed by the media and friends alike.

According to 3 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies and resort to dieting to achieve their ideal body shape. Unfortunately, only 5% of women naturally possess the body type often portrayed by Americans in the media.

One fashion model is on a quest to remove the stigmas and spread the love to for woman all of ages, shapes and size to be proud in their skin, each in their very own unique way.

 

New York-based fashion model, Charli Howard is no stranger to embracing her body “When I moved to New York from England, I discovered the world of plus size modeling.. these girls seemed so happy” she says, which allowed Howard, 26, to become more comfortable in her skin not only as a model but as a person. Her experiences in the fashion world led her to team up with a fellow model, Clémentine Desseaux form the All Woman Project

A “501-c foundation aiming to better the life of girls and women worldwide by displaying a true, beautiful, positive and un-retouched image of women in photo and video campaigns throughout the year. The AWP is also taking actions where body image and self-esteem is the most challenging, in schools, by organizing events, workshops and meetings with school girls form elementary schools to college. Providing girls with role-models and inspirations is how we plan on giving them the strength and self-esteem they need to be the strong women We believe greatness starts with self-love and we’re dedicated to make every little girl convinced that she can do anything, regardless of her background or her body.”

 

Along with their strong message for women and so many to be proud of their bodies,  The All Woman Project gives voice to so many to embrace every bit of their bodies!
