West Valley:

Rugged Maniac powered by Men’s Health obstacle course race

This is their second Phoenix event of the year. Phoenix is the only city they visit twice per year! Entrance fee is $100 and you get to bring unlimited spectators to cheer you through the 25 + obstacles and help motivate you to the finish line! Additionally, you receive a tee, medal, photos and a stein of beer!

Picture this:  You arrive at Camelback Ranch on November 18th with a carload of your most adventurous friends.  As you step out you notice the people around you admiring your group’s coordinated “Avengers-in-bathing-suits” costumes and your on-point Hulk-green body paint. In the festival, people are already riding the mechanical bull and playing beach volleyball (Rugged Maniac is definitely more than just a mud run), but you’re more interested in the stein-hoisting contest on the main stage.  You make a note to sign up for that and the pie-eating contest after you run.   You see obstacles in the distance – mud-covered people jumping over fire, bouncing on trampolines, rocketing down a huge water slide – and your surging excitement confirms what you already knew: Today is going to be awesome!

Downtown Phoenix:

Hance Park will become a cheesy, pizza paradise from 11a.m.-5p.m. for approximately 3,500 attendees who will have access to approximately 15 pizza vendors, dessert food trucks, related food vendors, and a full, park-filled festival with lawn games, live bands, and a kid’s craft zone. Pizza makers will serve $2-$4 slices, full pies, and everything in between. Some of this year’s participants include: Saffron JAK, La Piazza Al Forno PHX, Dough Broughs Fireside, Into The Fire, Nicastro, Flying Saucer, Kono Pizza, Dough Mama, Smoothie Run, The Spot, Freak Brothers, andRoad Runnning Pizza from Tucson. Many of these vendors are private caterers with wood-fired ovens, so the Phoenix Pizza Festival is the best way to try them before booking them. Craft beer stations will be operated by Mother Bunch Brewing, O.H.S.O., Wren House, and THAT Brewery. Wine will also be available.
The Phoenix Pizza Festival has again partnered with Downtown Phoenix Inc. as a charity beneficiary. This community development group promotes the revitalization of downtown by supporting events and local businesses.

According to David Tyda, the last 2 years, the event has sold out, meaning no tickets were available at the gate. He anticipates it happening again, so they encourage everyone to go online and purchase their tickets to avoid having their pizza dreams shattered!

We have just started the Radio Free Phoenix 2017 Radiothon – our fundraiser to keep RFP alive and on the air.  We went on-air August 18th, 2004 and this year, 2017 our expenses have skyrocketed. The major expense was and is the royalty rates we pay to play the music. This has increased over 500% in the last 2 years. We need your help – please donated to RFP and help us keep bringing this great music RFP to you!
