With profound sadness, Playwright, Producer & Actor, Ben Tyler passed on July 24th. Ben played “The Angry Arizonan” since February, 2016 on Radio Free Phoenix. He recorded 1064 two minute episodes of the Angry Arizonan. a feature that ran 5 times a day, 5 days a week on Radio Free Phoenix.

Ben had some serious medical issues this last year. He had surgery followed up by chemo, and was feeling better. He returned to Radio Free Phoenix for the last time earlier this year.

Ben was also part of the Ajo Reparatory Company in the late 70’s early 80’s and was a regular on the Wallace & Ladmo show back then. That is where the Angry Arizonan appeared for the first time as “The Angry American.” He also was an accomplished playwright and had written and staged several plays based on The Wallace & Ladmo Show. His last production was The Truth About Winnie Ruth Judd”  co-written by Ben & Cathy Dresbach. This play based on the book written by his friend, Jana Bommersbach.

Ben started with the Angry Arizonan on February 29th, 2016 with the last one airing on February 3rd, 2025.

Ben really enjoyed doing this and (his tag line) As the Kids Say: ……………………………………..

There is a memorial for Ben, this Monday, August 25th at Chandler Prep Academy, 1951 N. Alma School Rd., Chandler 85224. 6:30 to 8 pm.
