The Playlist

Eagles – Desperado: (Story of my life)
Jackson Browne – Yeah Yeah  (From his “Standing in the Breach” CD in tribute to the survivors of the horror of the earthquake in Haiti)
Elton John – Funeral for a Friend/Loves Lies Bleeding  (even Elton calls it his piece de resistance)
Eric Clapton – Let It Rain  (no one else is Eric Clapton or ever will be)
Stephen Stills – Go Back Home  (If anyone’s close to Clapton on guitar, it’s him. And Clapton even played on that album’s title song)
Beach Boys – God Only Knows   (Even the Beatles said it was the greatest song by any rock band ever)
Gregg Allman – I’m No Angel  (Part II of the story of the story my life. And believe it or not, I do like Cher)
Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band – Hollywood Nights   (Glen Frey’s friend and a song about the life I wish I could’ve had. Sorta’…)
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers – Jammin’ Me  (The one guy I never got to see in concert. And everything he says to “take back,” I agree)
Scotland Yard Gospel Choir – Tear Down The Opera House  (Little known but locally popular Chicago indy group long featured a former student of this college professor (me)
Journey – Don’t Stop Believing   (My White Sox wore out this song and literally Steve Perry’s vocal chords en route to their 2005 World Series sweep)
Def Leppard – Hysteria  (My ’80s were marked by stoned-out Def Leppard concerts and the memory of this song after my then S.O  dumped me after I turned down her marriage proposal – really)
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band – Bobby Jean  (Ever lose a friend? We all have. Bruce reminds us what it feels like as only he can)
Roy Orbison – Pretty Woman  (national anthem of the ’50s)
Four Seasons – Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow  (A slick, piercing perfect-harmony cover of the Shirelles’ hit song): Well, will you? Tell me now, and I won’t ask again…)

We have just started the Radio Free Phoenix 2017 Radiothon – our fundraiser to keep RFP alive and on the air.  We went on-air August 18th, 2004 and this year, 2017 our expenses have skyrocketed. The major expense was and is the royalty rates we pay to play the music. This has increased over 500% in the last 2 years. We need your help – please donated to RFP and help us keep bringing this great music RFP to you!
